Introducing our Family Camp 2026 Evening Speaker…

Pastor Bob Marvel

Cornwall Church, Bellingham, Washington

Bob graduated from Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon, in 1985 and began his ministry as a Youth Pastor in Edmonds, Washington.

In 1987, he moved to Bellingham to serve in Student Ministries under Rev. Ken Long, and in 1993, he became the Senior Pastor of Cornwall Church. His spiritual gifts include preaching and teaching, shepherding, and leadership. Pastor Bob is deeply mission-minded and has led or participated in trips to Mexico, India, Africa, Haiti, and Costa Rica. He is a third-generation preacher, following in the footsteps of his father and paternal grandmother, and his mother is also an ordained minister.

Bob has a deep passion for Christ and the Church, and his teaching is known for blending practical biblical insight with stories and humor. Over the years, Pastor Bob has spoken at churches and events across the country and around the world, but most weekends he is right at home in the Pacific Northwest at Cornwall Church.

When he is not preparing for weekend services, Bob enjoys adventure in God’s creation. He has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, scuba dived the Great Blue Hole in Belize, run the Comrades Marathon in South Africa twice, walked 550 miles across Spain on the Camino de Santiago, and completed 49 marathons and four ultra-marathons. He loves to travel, both domestically and internationally, and has visited places such as Tanzania, Israel, Greece, Haiti, South Africa, Spain, Mexico, Hawaii, and now NEVADA CITY! Some of these trips have been for missions, others for vacation or learning. He also enjoys running, hiking, snowboarding, mountain biking, and riding his motorcycle.

Bob is married to Dorene, and they just celebrated their 26th year of marriage this year.
