Meet our New Regional Pastor

 Paul & Debbie Dreger

Paul & Debbie Dreger

A graduate of Anderson University (B.A. 1975) and the School of Theology (M.Min. 1979), Paul pursued continuing studies at Southern Baptist Seminary, Louisville, KY, and the Anderson School of Theology.  He has served the Church of God as associate pastor and senior pastor in Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky and Pennsylvania as well as Regional Pastor for the Church of God in Tennessee (2002-2007).  He served as the National Director of SHAPE -Sustaining Health And Pastoral Excellence (2008 to 2017).  In that role, he was also involved in other ministry initiatives as a member of the Domestic Ministries team of Church of God Ministries.  As a third-generation pastor in the Church of God Reformation Movement, Paul’s passion is to see pastors and congregations strengthened, equipped, and encouraged as they serve in fulfilling the mission of Jesus Christ in the world today. Because of his deep interest in global service, Paul has invested his life as a pastor in international ministry.  He has been privileged to serve work camps and be involved in the training of international leaders in Haiti, Mexico, Barbados (6), Jamaica (2), Russia (2), and Western Europe.

In 1973 he married Debbie Workman. They are the parents of three daughters - Gretchen (Mrs. James Hume), Tamara (Mrs. Matt Shelton) and Michele (Mrs. Coy Schrougham) - who are all involved in ministry in the Church of God and grandparents to nine precious children - Emma, Elliott, Jackson, Keira, Judah, Eve, Elayne, Daphne, and Evelyn.

Debbie has been deeply involved in ministry with Paul through the years, working in a variety of roles in places they have served.  Her passion and compassion has led her to serve women through the development of local women's organizations, leading study/fellowship groups, speaking at women's conferences, serving in various roles in Women of the Church of God (CWC) and chairing the national clergy wive's committee.  One of her greatest blessings, beyond being Mama and Nana to her family, is the encouragement and strengthening of women in their spiritual growth and development.  She brings a wealth of delightful experiences to share.

Paul and Debbie hope to visit every congregation in the District each year.  To schedule a visit call Paul at 615-653-0902 or write at dreger5@aol.com.
