We have inherited more than churches, ministries, programs, and traditions. We have inherited a mission.
ADVANCE is a gathering of pastors and leaders asking what faithfulness to that mission requires in this generation and what we can accomplish together that we cannot accomplish alone.
This is also an important year in the life of our Association. In a season of transition and renewed focus, our Annual Business Meeting is more than a matter of conducting business. It’s an opportunity to steward what has been entrusted to us, make important decisions together, and help shape the next season of our shared mission.
The Mission We Carry
Pastor Jon Richards | Village
From the call to ministry that shaped his own life, to the mission that guides Village, to the mission we share as an Association, Jon will consider what it means to know what we have been called to, faithfully live it out where God has placed us, and recognize what He has entrusted to us together.
The Space We Share
Pastor Tim Dwyer | North Modesto Church of God
What does it mean to be Church of God? We’ll explore the theological convictions that anchor us, the space we have historically held, and how that shared identity allows churches with real differences to remain connected around Christ and His mission.
The Relationships That Strengthen Us
Pastor Isaac Parra | The Hope
Ministry was never intended to be carried alone. We’ll consider why relationships between pastors, leaders, and churches matter, and how stronger connections help us encourage one another, serve one another, and accomplish together what none of us can accomplish alone.
Every generation bears responsibility for what it receives and what it passes on. We are grateful for the pastors, churches, convictions, and ministry that have shaped us and the Church of God movement we are part of. But faithfulness is more than preserving what has been handed to us. It means stewarding it well, strengthening one another, and carrying the mission forward for the sake of those who come next.
The mission is before us. Let’s ADVANCE together.
